Platform of Social NGOs
The Platform of Social NGOs was founded 1995 and joins together nearly 40 European non-governmental organisations, federations and networks that work in the social sector and uphold the interests of a wide spectrum of European civil society. They are working together to build an inclusive society and promote the social dimension of the European Union. The Platform includes associations of organisations representing women, older people, people with disabilities, unemployed people, migrants, people living in poverty, gays, lesbians, young people, children and families. The member organisations also include NGOs working on social issues such as social justice, homelessness, life-long learning, health and racism.
The Social Platform channels the concerns of its members on issues of common interest and represents them to the EU institutions.
The BAGFW is represented in the Platform through its network ETWelfare.
